Terms & Conditions

Important information about bookings, cancellations, your rights and more

These terms and conditions apply to our services and the use of this Website, and by using our services and/or accessing this Website, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set out below.

1.Booking

1.1Payment must be made in full on booking by Credit/Debit card or cheque.

1.2Bookings are for a minimum of two bags per transfer.

1.3Single bag transfers may be possible depending on route traffic – please call for details.

1.4We offer a discount on bookings of more than eight transfers and/or four bags, please contact us for a quote.

1.5We reserve the right to decline any booking.

1.6We will acknowledge every online booking via email. It is important that you appreciate and understand that your order represents a legally binding contract. Your statutory rights, including any cancellation rights, are unaffected.

2.Baggage

2.1 Baggage must not weigh more than 18 kilograms.

2.2 In the event of a bag exceeding the weight limit HikeHelp will be entitled to:
 - charge a supplement of £12 per bag for every transfer that the weight limit is exceeded;
 - refuse to transport the item.

2.3 The customer will not be entitled to a refund of the transport costs.

2.4If we have refused to transport the item, this will become the responsibility of the customer to arrange and pay for alternative transportation.

3.Accommodation

3.1When booking accommodation please advise the owners that HikeHelp will deliver and collect your bags. The customer must agree that the bags can be left in a suitable location at the drivers discretion if the accommodation is unstaffed on arrival. NOTE: HikeHelp will not accept any liability in these circumstances.

3.2If for reasons beyond our control we are unable to collect your bags (e.g we are unable to gain access to a property) you will be reunited with your baggage the following day.

3.3We undertake to collect and deliver your baggage to the next accommodation by 4.30pm. Baggage must be ready for collection by 9.00am and clearly labelled using the labels provided and securely packed without loose items attached. We prefer that your baggage is also locked.

3.4Please provide a mobile phone number for during your trip, so we can contact you if any problems arise.

3.5Please make sure that the bags are labelled with the name of the person who has made the booking and booking reference so that they can be identified on first pick up. We will add our own label at the first pick up.

4.Insurance

4.1We recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover your belongings.

2.2We advise you to lock your baggage and not to include items of high value.

4.3Please do not leave breakable items or camping gas or other fuels in your baggage.

4.4We do insure your baggage while in transit with us up to a value of £250.

5.Amendments

5.1With any changes to your travel plans, Please phone us to ensure that your request is actioned as soon as possible.

5.2Please ensure that we have agreed any changes in writing prior to travel. We will try to meet last minute requests but can not guarantee this.

6.Cancellations

6.1Any cancellation request must be sent to us in writing, by post or email. Please phone us to ensure that your request is actioned as soon as possible.

6.2If you need to cancel your booking we will make a refund based on time before the first collection:
 - 48 hours or more: 95% of the amount paid;
 - Less than 48 hours: no refund.

7.Emergency assistance

7.1This service is provided for the transport of baggage and does not include the transportation of people. However from time to time walkers suffer sprains or injuries. We will always be happy to assist in these situations by transporting you and your baggage to the next accommodation on your route. Ideally this request will need to be made the evening before by telephone.

8.Privacy

8.1By booking with HikeHelp you agree to us holding your contact information regarding your booking. This information will not be passed to any third party. No financial information such as credit card or bank details will be retained. See our Privacy Policy for more information.

9.Website terms & conditions

9.1General terms: This site is owned and operated by Andrew Fairhead trading as HikeHelp, The Stores House, Yarmouth Road, Hales, Norfolk, NR14 6AB. We aim to constantly improve and develop this Website for the benefit of all our customers, to allow this process to take place, we may occasionally:
 - modify or withdraw, temporarily or permanently, this Website (or any part of it) with or without notice;
 - change these Conditions from time to time, and your continued use of the Website will demonstrate your acceptance of such change;
 - alter or extend promotions at any time.

9.2Damage to your computer: We make every effort to ensure that this website is free from viruses or defects. However, due to the nature of the internet, we cannot guarantee that your use of this website won't affect your computer. We recommend that you purchase appropriate firewall and anti-virus software to use this and other websites and screen out anything that may damage it. We shall not be liable in the very unlikely event that while using this website your computer equipment is damaged.

9.3 Accuracy of content: We have taken every care in the preparation of the content of this website, in particular to ensure that prices quoted are correct at time of publishing and all products have been fairly described. However, orders will only be accepted if there are no material errors in the description of the services or their prices as advertised on this website. All prices are displayed inclusive of VAT.

9.4 Intellectual property: You acknowledge and agree that all copyright, trademarks and all other intellectual property rights in all materials and/or content made available as part of your use of this Website shall remain at all times with us or licensors. You are permitted to use this material only as expressly authorised by us. You acknowledge and agree that the material and content contained within this website is made available for your personal non-commercial use only and that you may only download such material and content for the purpose of using this website. You further acknowledge that any other use of the material and content of this website is strictly prohibited and you agree not to (and agree not to assist or facilitate any third party to) copy, reproduce, transmit, publish, display, distribute, commercially exploit or create derivative works of such material and content.

10.Miscellaneous legal provisions

10.1The contract between us shall be governed by the laws of England and any dispute between us will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England. English is the only language offered for the conclusion of the contract.

10.2We shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver products or otherwise perform any obligation as specified in these terms and conditions if the same is wholly or partly caused whether directly or indirectly by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

10.3You may not assign or sub-contract any of your rights or obligations under these terms and conditions or any related order for products to any third party.

10.4If any portion of these terms and conditions is held by any competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part, the validity or enforceability of the other sections of these terms and conditions shall not be affected.
